The music of Paul Ben Haim to the soprano, cello and piano in two lied periods, which were composed in Germany, under the inspiration and influence of Richard Strauss and later on the lied in Hebrew, which are closer to Debussy, Ravel and Fauré.
The voice of Varda Kotler – clear, pure and full of charm. She allows us to discover this treasure with many sentiments of emotion - a superb delicate lied.
The recording was made in Paris by Tim Oldham and Jack Doll. The voice sounds complete; the piano is "romantically" echoing at the distance – although a bit too emphasized to our taste.
